Program: “Let’s Take a Walk” by Mike Davis

Mike is perhaps the most disciplined photographer in our club. His daily routine takes him around the lakes at Plum Creek in Kyle, Texas. He will share with us some of the wonders he sees as he makes his rounds.

Photographing the world of his neighborhood has become essential to Mike since he retired 10 years ago. His practice reminds us that showing up is important. “f/8 and be there” is an expression popularly used by photographers to indicate the importance of taking the opportunity for a picture rather than being too concerned about using the best technique.

Mike “is there” every day. He says, “I enjoy photographing a diverse group of subjects that catch my eye as I walk about.” Welcome to Mike’s world. While he has educational and professional achievements, his favorite title is “PAW-PAW”. 

Member Photo Share Theme: people

We all photograph people. Lightroom or Photoshop make it easy to remove those pesky people who are always getting in the way of our sunset photos. But sometimes that person in the photo adds scale or visual interest to the landscape (especially if they are wearing bright red). Just about all of us take pictures of the people we know and sometimes don’t know. Sometimes people show up in our photographs we didn’t realize were there when we pressed the shutter.

Scour your photographs of family, friends, or strangers, or all three for Photoshares.  Send up to three images to Jerry Sargent at photos@jerrysargent.com

If you haven’t renewed, you may pay at the meeting, or use our PayPal by using this link, or you can mail your check to Winifred Simon at 600 Red Hawk Road, Wimberley, TX  78676. (Only paid members may post on our HCPC Members Facebook page.  If you are a paid member and cannot access the account, ask Charlie Kreitler, our admin, to allow you access.
