His photographs are in major museum collections including the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Museum of Fine Arts – Houston, The Philadelphia Museum of Art, and the Bibliotheque Nationale in Paris. In 1993 he was honored as Texas Artist of the Year. He retired in 1999 from the University of Houston where in 1975 he created the photography program, and now lives in Wimberley, Texas.

New Procedure when arriving

Please find your name tag at the table when you walk in, then locate the attendance sheet on the table and check off your name. You can also see if you are up to date on your dues. If not, you can pay Winifred Simon at the meeting, or other options below.

Member Photo Share Theme:  Black and White

“Austin winters can be a bit drab. Gray, cloudy days, low sun angle, dead herbage and (some) bare trees. A good time to think in shades of gray.  So find or create a few pictures that remind us of the visual power black and white photography.  Reprocess a color shot into B&W.  Find a subject that is already B&W (a zebra, sea gull or the right species of duck).  Photograph on a gray, foggy morning.  After all, B&W is where it all began.” (Bill Galloway)

Please name your 2  images as follows:  1FirstName_LastName.jpg, 2FirstName_Last Name.jpg. No need to resize – just make sure it is a jpeg file. Send them by email to hcphotoclub@gmail.com by Tuesday, February 13th to insure they will be shown at the meeting. Do NOT send to Jerry – he will be in Costa Rica! (Note: As always, if you prefer to submit something other than the theme topic, you may do so.)

Annual dues are a bargain at $12 per year. If you haven’t renewed, you may pay at the meeting, or use our PayPal by using this link, or you can mail your check to Winifred Simon at 600 Red Hawk Road, Wimberley, TX  78676.
