Program: Day to Night with Wayne Bauknight

Turning a daytime image into a nighttime scene is not an easy task, but Wayne has mastered the necessary steps to produce stunning results.

Wayne, born and raised in South Carolina, moved to Buda in 2018 from Maggie Valley, North Carolina, on the eastern side of the great Smoky Mountains. He was educated at the College of Charleston and Emory University, and after a stint in the United State Army at Fort Huachuca, Arizona, he completed his training in orthodontics at West Virginia University.

He retired in 2008 from his practice in Lancaster, South Carolina.  Wayne began his photography journey in1970 and got his first digital camera in 2012.  His travels have afforded him the opportunity to see wonderful sights around the world.

Wayne, a member of HCPC, will introduce us to his meticulous and creative process of converting daytime images into nighttime scenes.

Member Photo Share Theme:  Low Light Photography

There are times and places where lighting is dim, diffuse, or otherwise difficult. But sometimes that’s what makes the photograph desirable. Or sometimes that’s all you have to work with to get a picture that you want.  Or sometimes you just want a challenge to your skills and equipment.  So put aside your high lights and find some low lights to send to PhotoShare for March.

You are encouraged to send 2 images for this part of the meeting, on this topic … or another if you prefer. Please rename your images 1FirstName_LastName.jpg, 2FirstName_LastName.jpg and send to j.philpottwoodturner@gmail.com no later than March 18th to make sure they are included. This is mostly a Show and Tell time, but if you are looking for a critique or help with an image, you are welcome to ask for that sort of feedback.

Dues

Annual dues are a bargain at $12 per year. If you haven’t renewed, you may pay at the meeting, or use our PayPal by using this link, or you can mail your check to Winifred Simon at 600 Red Hawk Road, Wimberley, TX  78676. (Only paid members may post on our HCPC Members Facebook page.  If you are a paid member and cannot access the account, ask Charlie Kreitler, our admin, to allow you access.

Social Media

We have two Facebook Pages — Public and Members Only.

If you have any news or stories you’d like to have included in the newsletter, please send them to hcphotoclub@gmail.com.
