April 2018

Hill Country Photography Club

Cell Phone Photography, Part 2

Special Note: We’re sorry we were forced to cancel the April meeting and program.

An event at Brookdale prevented us from using their facility. We hope that never happens again, but always check your email or Facebook before heading to a meeting. It was not possible to call everyone.

We were able to reschedule our meeting for May 10th, and hope your will be able to come.

We will continue our previous program on Cell Phone Photography.

Naturescapes Kick-off – Come see the new postcard, and take some home with you to share in your community. We need to get the word out to as many people as possible.

Agenda:

7:00 – 7:25  Welcome, Introductions, and Member News

7:30 – 8:15  Program: Cell Phone Photography, Part 2 – Carol Serur

8:20 – 9:00  Critiques: Pet or Animal Photography

Program: Cell Phone Photography, Part 2 with Carol Serur

We spent so much time going over basics in the first program, that we didn’t have much time to discuss some of the creative apps. I’ll demonstrate more of that with you, and have another “handy” handout for you to take home. Please bring the last one with you for reference. I’ll have a few extras if you missed the first program.

***Have your cell phones charged and ready to use for the program.

In addition, Rose Epps will share some good information about how to organize the icons/folders on your iPhone/iPad using iTools.

Also, if YOU would like to share some info with the group, please let me know ahead of time (or not…) that you would like to share with the group. We learn together, and I appreciate your input, as always.

Critiques: Pet or Animal Photography

In response to our last program, please submit 2 images with a pet or animal theme (or other if you wish). Please resize them to be 2000 pixels on the long side, and a resolution of 72. Rename your images as follows:  1FirstName_LastName.jpg, 2FirstName_LastName.jpg.

Email your images to hcphotoclub@gmail.com no later than Tuesday, April 17th. Please put April Critiques in your Subject Line.

Remember, when showing your images, you may ask for a critique or suggestions for improvement from members, or simply “show and tell” your image.

Dues for 2018 are $12.

New members joining after the first of the year will pay a prorated amount. You may pay by check at the next meeting or mail to our treasurer, Winifred Simon, at 600 Red Hawk Road, Wimberley, TX 78676, or pay using PayPal.

Reminders

  • If you have a Facebook account, you may join our club’s Closed Group page and keep up with current member news as well as postings of Calls for Entry that you may wish to enter, or share other important or interesting information with our group. Go to HCPC Members. You must be a paid member to post and use this account. It is the easiest and best way to keep current on photo opps and member news. Carolyn Whiteside is the administrator of this page – thank you Carolyn!
  • You may also send a write-up of Accomplishments and Awards information that you would like to share on our website by submitting your information in a concise manner, and email to Art Arizpe at webmaster@hcphotoclub.org.
