Program
“Storytelling with Photoshop” — presented by Carol Serur. You’ve probably seen some of the charming images and stories Carol shares on Facebook. This month she’ll show us everything she does to create those images and stories. Here are a few examples.
Photo Share
You may send up to two images to share with the group. (You can send in any photos taken with any camera. It doesn’t have to be the monthly theme.) Tom Delaney has given us the following photo theme.
June theme: Playfulness, Silliness, Nonsense, Codswallop, Acting the Maggot. Summer is upon us, and things can get downright frolicsome, so what does play look like to you?
For the Photo Share, send one or two images to photos@jerrysargent.com by the end of Monday, June 13th, and put June Photo Share – Playfulness in the Subject line.
To prepare your images, we no longer have to resize our photos! Save them with the color space sRGB, and name them 1FirstName_LastName and 2FirstName_LastName. For example, 1Linda_Avitt.

Club Companion Exhibit to Naturescapes
Entry Deadline: July 10th
Our club always puts on a members-only companion exhibit to Naturescapes. If you’ve never entered a photo exhibit, this is a great opportunity to participate and learn what all is involved. At the April meeting we decided to have the theme be “Bridges”. You can interpret “Bridges” any way you want, but it cannot be a nature photo (so it can’t be mixed up with Naturescapes). Submit up to three images, and you’re guaranteed to have at least one accepted.
ArtHop 2022

Entry Deadline: July 31st

Wes Odell has this to say about ArtHop:
HCPC had a great showing at the 13th Annual Art Hop in Georgetown. Larry Alford’s “Tree Reflection” took 1st Place in Photography, while Nancy Naylor’s “Almost Heaven” took 2nd Place, and Carol Serur’s “Roseate Spoonbill” received an Honorable Mention. In addition, collectively, Larry, Nancy, Carol, Linda Avitt, Wes Odell, and Michael Penn Smith had 13 photos selected for this year’s show. Larry reported that members of our club have won 5 1st Places, and numerous 2nd, 3rd, and HM over the years. That certainly says a lot about the talent in our club! Congratulations!! This show will be hanging through October 31 at Georgetown Public Library and Georgetown Art Center. Both are in the heart of downtown GT, where it’s a fun place to spend a few hours in the area on these cool fall days.

If you have any news or stories you’d like to have included in the newsletter, please send them to hcphotoclub@gmail.com.
