November 2021
I’m happy to say that our in-person meetings are beginning to get back to “normal” — at least post-covid normal. If you didn’t attend last month, you missed out on a super interesting presentation by Neil Decker with a lot of photos about color mutations in flowers. Thanks, Neil!
The next meeting will be Thursday, November 18th, 7 pm, at First Lutheran Church of San Marcos, 130 West Holland Street in San Marcos. (As far as I can tell from the website, masks are still required at the church.)
On the agenda:
Welcome
Member News Share and Discussion
PROGRAM: Adirondacks, presented by Charlie Kreitler
Photo Share: You may send up to two images to share with the group. (You can send in any photos you’d like. It doesn’t have to be the monthly theme.) As usual, Tom Delaney, co-president, has come up with a challenging, thought-provoking theme.
Juxtaposition: the fact of two things being seen or placed close together with contrasting effect.
For the Photo Share, send one or two images to photos@jerrysargent.com by the end ofMonday, November 15th, and put November Critique – Juxtaposition in the Subject line.
To prepare your images, resize the long side to 1000 pixels, resolution of 72 ppi, color space sRGB, and name them 1FirstName_LastName.jpg and 2FirstName_LastName.jpg. For example, 1Linda_Avitt.jpg.
The change in number of pixels is due to trying out a different slide-show program.
News
In case you haven’t heard, the San Marcos Activity Center had a major pipe burst and pretty much turned into a shallow lake. Because of that, Naturescapes and Curves, Circles had to be quickly pulled down and people had to drop everything to come pick up their photos. Thank you, Carol Serur and Art Arizpe, for your immediate response!
If you get the chance, stop by the San Marcos Art Center to see our new club show, Hill Country Fall Photo Show. You’ll see a variety of art pieces, along with some great photos.
