Program: Capturing Soul: The Art of Storytelling Through Photography with Yvonne Palkowitsh

Yvonne Palkowitsh, born in a small Kansas town and currently residing in Austin, TX, is an award-winning artist with a Master of Arts from MidAmerica Nazarene University.
Yvonne is a self-taught photographer and storyteller whose work merges carefully planned photographs with digital composite techniques to transform traditional photographs into soulful, imaginative tales. Her work, deeply inspired by the resilience of women, employs dark, richly colored scenes to convey both strength and vulnerability. Each piece invites viewers to explore the layers of meaning and emotion that lie beneath the surface of the surreal, evocative world, blending story with visual poetry.

Exhibited in galleries and museums across the U.S. and internationally, Yvonne’s art is a part of prestigious collections, showcasing her unique ability to narrate through the lens.

Member Photo Share Theme: Weather
“March is when we turn on our weather radios. In Texas we expect wind, hail, rain, lightning, storm clouds, tornados, freezing rain. It occurs to me that there should be some photo ops there. So gather up your images of weather…its visuals, its drama, its effects, its aftermath…for our March PhotoShare. Wet umbrellas, storm clouds building over mountains, foggy cityscapes, lightening…all could be possibilities.” Bill Galloway
Please name your 2 images as follows: 1FirstName_LastName.jpg, 2FirstName_Last Name.jpg. No need to resize – just make sure it is a jpeg file. Send them by email to photos@jerrysargent.com by Tuesday, March 19th to insure they will be shown at the meeting (Note: As always, if you prefer to submit something other than the theme topic, you may do so.)
