Program: An Introduction to Photoshop Layers by David Oson
This month’s program will be an introduction to Photoshop Layers. If you already use Photoshop, You’ll learn at least one new thing from David Olson’s presentation. If you have never used Photoshop, you will see the value of using both Photoshop and Lightroom if you are a LR user.
From David Olson: “I’m a retired engineer that has become a technical photographer through self-teaching. My motivation comes from a sense of adventure and great curiosity. They have gotten me into mischief and given me great joy and satisfaction. The adventure always has me going to new places and seeing new things. The curiosity pushes me to ‘walk over that next hill’ just to see what is there. And if I see something wonderful or intriguing, I want to shout “Look what I found”, I want to share what I see.
My curiosity has me photographing old doors, a discarded piece of machinery, a common view from a new angle, something different and new. My goal is to have people look at my photographs and not say “Oh he was there”, not to be just a record of where I have been or what I have done, but to feel what I did, whether in awe of beauty, excitement in or marveling at history. The best compliment I’ve had was a friend who said “… they (your photos) are no longer just snapshots, but you are now taking photographs.”

“Spring is here and, hopefully, summer will remain a few more weeks away. A good time to go somewhere. Unless you are a marathon walker, that means using wheels or wings. Those wheels and wings may provide the subject or accent element for great pictures. Antique cars, planes, wagons, cabooses, etc may be the whole focus of the trip. (I love steam trains.) For more flash and brawn there’s race cars, fire trucks, tractors, and big rigs. So get rollin”. – Bill Galloway
Please name your 2 images as follows: 1FirstName_LastName.jpg, 2FirstName_Last Name.jpg. No need to resize – just make sure it is a jpeg file.
